   Suppression begins on women

 To commemorate the International Women's Day, on March 8, 2011 Janasansadaya held a discussion at Vishva Nikethan, Moratuwa, with diverse groups consisting of men and women,

 At this meeting Janasansadaya enlighten as to how violence against women are encouraged and supported by cultures, customs and religious doctrines, all over the world and how human right defenders should work to eliminate this and defend women's fundamental rights.

 An Iranian film named, Stoning of Soraya. M. was also screened at this meeting. Basing on this film several questions relating to women's torture and abuse were discussed and how women are suppressed everywhere by men in the name of religion, tradition, culture etc..
